The inaugural “TRI-TO-WIN” SavageMan Half-Iron Triathlon was held on September 16, 2007 and was a resounding success.
Feedback was unanimously positive and the word is out about this great new race. The 2008 field is limited to 400 participants for each of the SavageMan Half and SavageMan International and it is expected both races will fill quickly.
Broad Participation and Tremendous Feedback
The numbers and comments from the inaugural SavageMan Half-Iron Triathlon speak for themselves:
266 participants and 35 relay teams representing 14 states, the Virgin Islands, Canada, Australia, and Belgium. The SavageMan podium was an international affair with Canada sweeping the top 3 women's spots and Australia claiming the top spot for the men.
Participant feedback on the race was uniformly positive:
98% would recommend SavageMan Half-Iron to others
96% were more than satisfied with the Deep Creek venue
98% are considering or definitely planning to return in 2008
