On race day, non-participants may consider taking the complementary shuttle to Westernport, Md to view the highlight of the SavageMan 70.0 Triathlon bike course, the Westernport Wall. A steep climb unlike any other in all of triathlon, athletes will need your support here and spectators will be treated to great entertainment as not all participants will scale the Wall without falling off their bikes. Those who drive into Westernport to view riders scale the Westernport Wall must use Rt 135 and not follow the course route through Savage River State Forest. For those who do not wish to travel to Westernport, the state park venue has a public beach, extensive hiking trails, picnic pavilions, and a playground for family members to entertain themselves.
